In our little valley here, we rely heavily on the valley-wide irrigation system for watering crops and stock during the summer.  It’s only on for about 3 to 4 months depending on last winters snowpack, so you use it while you have it!

Well, being as how it is Montana and our seasons kind of blend together except about 2 weeks right in the middle of each one…

Anyway, last night was what we call a “killing frost” because what you have in the garden is gonna get whacked!

Good thing this field is a well worked and very hardy alfalfa crop or it would be a total loss, at least where the irrigation water froze up!

Just wanted to share more of our fun times starting out the farm season. =)
